Freeit featured in the Austin Business Journal

Tech consulting company Freeit Data Solutions Inc. has grown to $8 million in annual revenue in just three years by taking a somewhat unusual approach.  Launched in 2008 as a reseller for NetApp, Freeit has gained momentum by increasing efficiency of networks through reducing data sprawl.  For example, Freeit reduced the amount of storage space on one application used by the city of Austin by 86 percent.

Stephen Elkins, the city of Austin’s chief information officer, said the top problem of managing the city’s IT network is prioritizing its projects.  But managing is ever-growing amount of data remains the biggest and most constant tech issue.
